Outfit post: Strike a pose
Or: experiments in self-photography.
When you’re taking a photo of yourself with a camera set on a timer, you have about 2 seconds between shots to change poses.
Which is how I wound up in this pose–or, as I like to call it, the WERQ! position. Well, a facsimile thereof, anyway.
I’m also finding that I don’t have many great options for propping the camera up in my front yard in the mornings on the way to work, thus the sky background and the halo effect.
Nah, I meant to do that!
This is a hot day in June outfit: sleeveless lightweight knit top with cropped pants and sandals.
Once I made the daring (for me) decision to pair a coppery toned sweater with khaki pants, I decided to go all variation in earth tones, so the belt and shoes are in yet another shade of brown.
I’ve had almost everything in this outfit for 5 years or more; it goes to show that more classic lines last longer, and the things you love you’ll wear again and again. I’ve always liked the neckline on this sweater and the slightly inset armholes. Together they make my shoulders look wider, balancing out my bigger-in-the-hips silhouette.
- What do you think? Just the right amount of non-matchiness, or too much?
- Would you have guessed how old these items are? Classic and timeless, or looking dated?
